Who Am I?

Hey, I’m Sean! Great to meet you.

I’m a husband, dad, and Jesus follower out in Colorado Springs. My wife and I met during a church internship back in California. A couple years later, God told us to pack up and move to Colorado. So we went and wouldn’t change it.

These days life looks like early mornings trying to workout before my 1-year old daughter wakes up, making my wife her coffee and getting the day setup before I head to work. It’s one of the biggest honors I have.

I grew up going to church my whole life, but my faith didn’t really become mine until my late teens. That shift changed  how I see work, family, creativity, all of it.

When I’m not designing stuff, I’m usually on a walk with my family, out on a trail, digging through Facebook Marketplace for something I probably don’t need, or sitting in a coffee shop for way too long. Some of my current goals are to complete a half marathon and compete in Hyrox competition. I’m still working on it, but I know I’ll get there.

I built Misfit Creatives because I want to use what God gave me to serve the church, build something that outlasts me, and create something meaningful. And honestly? I want Saylor to grow up and see that her dad went after something real.

Why Misfit Creatives?

I got my start in high school making video announcements with an iPhone and a MacBook Air. No budget, no crew. Just me filming and editing until 3 a.m. every week because I couldn’t put something out that I wasn’t proud of. That part of me never went away.

Over the last 10 years I’ve worked in-house at churches and ministries, which means I understand the world you’re operating in. Tight budgets, small teams, and a mission that deserves way better creative than it’s getting. I’ve been on your side of the table and I know what it’s like to wear five hats and still feel like the brand isn’t where it should be.

Right now I am a graphic designer at World Challenge, a global missions organization and help with everything from graphic design and video to web development and content strategy. That’s my day job. Misfit Creatives is where I bring that same experience directly to churches like yours.

The thing that sets me apart is I don’t want to just make things look good. I think through the strategy behind it. Why are we posting this? Who’s seeing it? What do we want them to do next? A nice graphic that doesn’t lead anywhere is just decoration. I want your creative to actually work to reach people, to grow your church, and to make your message impossible to ignore.

Graphics, video, web, content strategy, I do all of it. But more than anything, I want to help your church build a brand that finally matches the mission behind it.
